Macau’s unemployment rate stood at 2.7% between May and July, an increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous period, from April to June 2020, was announced on Thursday.
“The unemployed population was composed of 11,100 individuals, more than 1,000, compared to the past period”, said, in a statement, the Directorate of Statistics and Census Services (DSEC).
Compared to the period between May and July 2019, the unemployment rate rose 0.9 percentage points.
The number of unemployed looking for their first job represented 9.2% of the total unemployed population, or a further 3.7 percentage points.
