The family of a black man shot by a white policeman last weekend called for people to calm down this Tuesday, as the US revolt over the new case of police violence against the black community increased, which rekindled protests against racism.
“Really, we just need prayers,” said Julia Jackson of the attack on her son Jacob Blake, who was shot seven times by police last Sunday in front of his three children. “While walking through this city, I saw a lot of damage. This does not reflect my son, nor my family. If Jacob knew what was going on, the violence and destruction, he would be very upset, ”said Julia at a news conference.
With tension still latent after the death of George Floyd, a black citizen killed by a white policeman, the city of Kenosha was the scene of clashes for the second consecutive night. The protests began after the video on Sunday showed the video showing the assault on Blake.
