Yohana Agurto will have to remove Mel Gibson’s image from the label, but can use the product name
An unemployed Chilean teacher had the idea of, during the pandemic, creating something to fight the crisis that is plaguing the world. Without a salary, Yohana Agurto created the brand ‘Miel Gibson’ during the four months of quarantine and decided to sell organic honey – which she had kept in large quantities – without thinking that the Hollywood actor would care about image rights.
However, representatives of Mel Gibson contacted Yohana and gave her 48 hours to stop using the image. The teacher chose an image taken from “Braveheart”, one of the most acclaimed films of the actor’s career.
