The Oracle group, whose president, Larry Ellison, raised millions of dollars for the Trump campaign, is interested in buying TikTok activities in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
US group Oracle, contacted by AFP on Tuesday, declined to comment. In answering questions after a speech in Arizona on Tuesday, Trump stated: “Oracle is a great company and its owner is a great man. I think Oracle would certainly be able to manage TikTok ”.
When asked about his preference for purchasing the Chinese video app TikTok, the American President said only that the eventual buyer must “ensure that the United States is well compensated”.
The Chinese video app is already in purchase negotiations with Microsoft. The Trump administration gave 90 days to Chinese TikTok owner ByteDance to sell American social network operations, under threat of blocking it in the United States, citing national security problems.
