The Russian Health Minister said on Saturday (15) that the country has already started production of the first batch of vaccine against the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2).
The immunization caused controversy as it was the first registered in the world, even without having completed all the testing phases. “Production of the vaccine against the new coronavirus – Covid-19, developed by the National Gamaleya Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, has begun,” said Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, in an official note released to Tass and Interfax agencies.
The registration of the vaccine named Sputnik V occurred on August 11, but it was received with caution by scientists around the world and by the World Health Organization (WHO) due to the lack of transparency of the data.
