The Institute for Municipal Affairs (IAM) announced that it found no traces of the new coronavirus after testing more than a thousand samples of frozen food products.
The organization has since June collected samples from various local suppliers, having tested pork, chicken, fish, cow, sheep, shellfish and crustaceans from different countries.
Chinese officials indicated on Thursday that a sample of frozen chicken wings imported from Brazil tested positive for the new coronavirus in Shenzhen. The discovery led the Macau authorities to suspend imports from the Brazilian producer responsible for the product in question.
