At a time when the State Security Defense Law is expected to change, Ho Iat Seng says he is still waiting for the final proposal. The Chief Executive guarantees, however, that the changes will not follow Hong Kong.
“We are [doing] in accordance with article 23 of the Basic Law. Is there room for improvement? Of course there is. Our secretary already said in the Legislative Assembly. But we are not going to do it because Hong Kong has the National Security Law. We do not have to revise the law depending on Hong Kong. We already have this law and we have perfected it according to the article. We have our institutional responsibility, ”he said.
Ho Iat Seng said he still has “nothing to announce about the next phase” in Macau.
