Traces of the new coronavirus were found on chicken wings imported from Brazil, in the southern city of Shenzhen, an official Chinese Communist Party (CCP) newspaper reported today.
The traces were detected on the surface of a sample, after carrying out nucleic acid tests, said the English-language newspaper Global Times, which cited the Center for Disease Prevention and Control in Shenzhen, a city adjacent to Hong Kong.
All customs personnel who came into contact with chicken wings from Brazil were subjected to tests, which were negative, the newspaper added.
The batches of the contaminated product that had already been marketed were, however, found and confiscated by the authorities.
