Visas for Zhuhai with little impact on the game, says analyst

The resumption of individual visas for residents of Zhuhai will have “a very small impact on gambling revenues”, according to Ben Lee, an analyst at IGamix, a consultant at TDM-Rádio Macau.

From tomorrow, August 12th, individual visas will be issued to Macau again, but only for residents of Zhuhai.

“The resumption of individual visas only for Zhuhai residents has minimal impact, but we have to see what it really means: Macau would not be able to deal with a sudden total reopening of China,” said the analyst, noting that the population has about of 1.70 million and the city turns out to be “predominantly a dormitory for Macau, whether for non-resident workers in China, students or even for local residents who chose Zhuhai to live”.

Even so for Ben Lee, this measure is a principle: “what we call a baby step for the resumption of issuance of individual visas by other cities”.
