The impact of the pandemic on youth education is greater in lower-income countries because they have less access to the Internet, fewer computers and smaller homes.
More than 70 percent of young students or student workers have been negatively affected by the pandemic, the International Labor Organization (ILO) warned today, which points to the “devastating effect” of the pandemic on education, training and youth work.
In a survey on the impacts of the new coronavirus on employment, education, rights and mental health, the United Nations agency notes that 65% of more than 12,605 young people between the ages of 18 and 34 surveyed online reported having learned less from the end of classroom lessons.
