The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a public civil action against the Jair Bolsonaro government for “disrespectful” attitudes and discriminatory statements made by the president and ministers in relation to women
For the Prosecutor’s Office, since the beginning of the current administration, Bolsonaro and members of the federal government summit have made a series of statements and made administrative acts that reveal prejudiced bias against women, reinforcing stigmas and stimulating violence.
According to the MPF, the stance of Bolsonaro and his ministers constitutes abuse of freedom of expression, since it violates other rights guaranteed by the Constitution, such as respect for the dignity of the human person.
