The President of Venezuela has extended until 13 September the state of alarm in force since March to combat the covid-19 pandemic in the country, where 25,805 cases are confirmed.
“I will extend the state of alarm, as required by the Constitution and the law, for another 30 days,” Nicolás Maduro told Venezuelan state television on Sunday.
The President of Venezuela also underlined that “the state of alarm allows to take a set of measures, decisions, truly necessary, individualized, located, in general”, to combat the covid-19 in the country.
“The state of alarm is very important. Fulfill it, publish it in the Gazeta Oficial [equivalent to the Diário da República], immediately ”, he stressed.
