The Chinese ambassador in London called a BBC report on the human rights of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province “biased” and said the Hong Kong dossier was “poisoning” bilateral relations.
Liu Xiaoming presented a series of videos to journalists in order to emphasize that China’s actions in that province are aimed at combating terrorism and grainy images included bloody scenes as a result of the attacks.
The videos were intended to counter a recent BBC interview, in which host Andrew Marr challenged the diplomat to explain the images of ‘drones’ [unmanned aerial devices] that apparently showed Uighur prisoners in custody and transferred by train by Chinese authorities.
