Macau has lost thousands of non-resident workers since January

Macau had 186,427 non-resident workers at the end of June, 7071 fewer than in January.

Data published today by the Directorate of Services for Labor Affairs (DSAL) show significant declines, especially in Macau’s hotels and restaurants. The sector with more imported labor had 50,651 workers in June, that is, 4,256 fewer than in January.

Trade was also affected, with the number of workers hired from abroad shrinking from 23260 to 22172.
