The SAR Government reiterates that it will not make cut to civil service pay or benefits

In response to Macau’s current economic situation, the SAR Government has previously made a decision to tighten spending in the public sector and reduce non-essential administrative expenses.The Chief Executive has made it clear earlier that the relevant policies will not reduce public welfare expenditures or affect the government’s public services. He also emphasises that civil servants’ salaries and benefits would not be reduced.​​​​ During the epidemic, the civil servants provided outstanding performance and high qualified service and their work is deeply appreciated by Macao residents. The SAR Government would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their devotion with dedication and professionalism.  The SAR Government once again reiterated that it will not make cut to civil servants’ pay or benefit.  The SAR government also asked public to ignore the rumors about the reduction of the Civil service pay and the “Christmas Allowance” freeze, and join the society to restore Macao’s social economy as soon as possible.
