About 40 gazelles killed by poachers in a Niger nature reserve

About 40 dormant gazelles, an endangered species, were killed by poachers in the nature reserve of Termit and Tin Toumma in Niger, the country’s environmental services announced today.

“This is the worst massacre committed on the reserve. It used to be on a small scale, a gazelle here, a gazelle there. They killed about 40 dorado gazelles, ”said the regional director for environmental services in the Zinder region, in southern central Niger, which houses part of the reserve, Mamane Hamidou, cited by France-Presse news.
