Venezuelan President accuses Spanish ambassador of conspiracy

The Venezuelan President today accused the Spanish ambassador in the country, Jesus Silva Fernández, of complicity with an opponent politician in a conspiracy to carry out a coup d’état that would include his murder.

“Venezuela reserves diplomatic actions on the Spanish ambassador for his participation in the [frustrated] armed invasion of Macuto [on May 3] and for his complicity in Mr. Leopoldo López’s criminal acts. Wait for news in the next few hours, ”said Nicolás Maduro.

Nicolás Maduro was speaking at the presidential palace in Miraflores, during an act that marked the Day of the Journalist (June 27) in which several media professionals were distinguished with the Simón Bolívar prize.
