For the new ambassador of Iran in Brasilia, Hossein Gharibi, 51, Brazil’s increasingly strong alignment with the United States is not an impediment for the two countries to expand their trade relations.
Gharibi, who took office in April, says his country is interested in areas such as the automotive and aviation industries, for example, even during the new coronavirus pandemic, and that the sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States are not a problem for business with Brazil.
“I already talked to President [Jair] Bolsonaro and found a pragmatic man. I believe that two countries that work together do not need to agree 100%. Countries have affinities, but also differences. We have to prioritize affinities, ”said the ambassador to Folha.
