Luanda will stay in sanitary fence until July 10

The province of Luanda, which is home to more than seven million inhabitants, will remain under health conditions until 10 July, to contain the contamination rates of the new coronavirus.

According to a joint Executive Decree of the ministries of Health and the Interior, dated June 26, the measure has been in effect since 12:00 am on Friday (June 26). The problem is, according to the authorities, that the province of Luanda is still in a worrying epidemiological situation, with a total of 208 positive cases of Covid-19 registered until last Thursday.

The joint Executive Decree states that the situation is likely to cause active community transmission, with the risk of rapid spread, and may give rise to new transmission chains in neighboring areas. It indicates that, for this purpose, the entry and exit of citizens to and from Luanda continues to be prohibited, except for means of transport with humanitarian aid and food, or for people due to health and death.
