FIFA today launched a $ 1.5 billion (€ 1.32 billion) aid fund for federations in the form of grants and loans to deal with the consequences of the pandemic covid-19.
“FIFA unanimously approved a 1.5 billion dollar (1.32 billion euro) aid plan,” said its president, Gianni Infantino, after a video conference meeting of the agency’s board, but he noted that it will exercise “strict control over the use of these funds”.
Each of the 211 FIFA member associations can receive one million dollars and additional aid of half a million 500,000 can be channeled to support women’s football.
