An artisanal miner from Tanzania became a millionaire overnight after finding the two largest tanzanite stones on record, worth 2.96 million euros.
The two blue gemstones (which can take on various shades depending on the light) were discovered by Saniniu Laizer in one of the tanzanite mines located in a small area of northern Tanzania, surrounded by a security wall to prevent smuggling.
