The citizens of the diaspora have full access to justice

Portugal is not confined to its continental and island borders, nor is its population limited to living in these spaces, given that, although there are about 1,400,000 citizens registered in emigration constituencies, according to recent estimates, there are about 5 million of Portuguese people living in the diaspora, because there are many situations in which these citizens have to resort to justice to preserve their rights, or situations in which they are called to integrate the passive pole in proceedings in Portuguese courts.

It must be considered that many Portuguese who emigrated were successful in the host countries, however not all have the same success and today they live in homes supported by Portuguese associations in the diaspora or are in extreme need.
