Known to the public for the roles he played on the small and on the big screen but also as a model, actor Pedro Lima had a very different career until he reached television. As a professional swimmer, he participated in two Olympic Games for Angola (he was born in Luanda). This Saturday, his body was found on Abano beach, in Cascais.
Pedro Lima was 49 years old and had five children, four of whom were the result of his nearly 20-year relationship with Anna Westerlund. The oldest was the result of marriage to Patrícia Piloto.
The actor was born in Luanda on April 20, 1971 and, at the age of 17, represented Angola in swimming, in free style and moth, at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul (South Korea). Four years later, he repeated the experience in Barcelona (Spain). On Facebook, the Portuguese Swimming Federation offered its condolences to the family.
Pedro Lima was also passionate about surfing, which he practiced since he was 12 years old. In his last Instagram post, he surfaced precisely with a surfboard in hand, indicating the return of the sport this weekend at Praia do Cabedelo. “Little by little the world is waking up, our life is coming back. We came back to life together ”, he wrote. “The world needs us all now. With strength, with love, with patience and feeling that there is always someone to support us in the challenges ”, he said.
