China has diagnosed 40 new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, including 27 in Beijing, after an outbreak detected in the capital’s main supply market.
The municipal government has decreed a “state of war” to stop this new outbreak, after 106 new cases have been added in the last few days, leading to the closure of non-essential services and the performance of tens of thousands of screening tests.
