What if Portugal seriously bet on teleworking?

One of the surprising aspects of the health crisis we are experiencing and the contingencies imposed by it was precisely the speed that companies were able to implement an accelerated digital transition and generalize the use of teleworking.

This surprise is even greater if we take into account the fact that, according to a study by Eurofund, Portugal, despite having telework within the framework of labor legislation since 2003, was, before the crisis, one of the countries that culturally had the most resistance to teleworking and, in Europe, less had implemented this regime, only being in this matter better than Greece and Italy.

A CIP study also shows that, although 62% of the companies had no previous experience with teleworking, 92% of the companies, which could use this mechanism, did so during COVID-19 times.
