Now it’s official: SpongeBob is, in fact, LGBT. Its original TV station, Nickelodeon, made official that the protagonist of “SpongeBob Pants Square”, released in 1999, belongs to this community.
In a post on Twitter to celebrate LGBT Pride Month, the channel published three photos of some of its colorful characters, with the phrase: “Celebrating pride with the LGBTQ + community and its allies this month and every month”.
