China’s gold visas drop nearly a third by May

Chinese investment raised through ‘gold’ visas fell 32% in the first five months of the year, compared to the same period in 2019, to 65.5 million euros, according to data from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF).

Between January and May, the total amount resulting from the granting of Residence Permit for Investment (ARI) from China was 65.5 million euros, in a total of 119 gold visas attributed, 32% less compared to the same period of 2019.

In the first five months of last year, the Chinese investment raised through this instrument had been 97 million euros, in a total of 173 ‘golden’ visas.
