More than half of Brazil’s beef is purchased by China

In May, sales to the Asian country represented 56% of exports of the Brazilian product. Even with the pandemic, Brazil exported almost 733 thousand tons of beef in 2020, an increase of 5% compared to the first five months of 2019. Abroad, the main destination of Brazilian beef is China.

In May, sales to the Asian country represented 56% of the product’s exports, and more meat being sold abroad also means a better price paid by slaughterhouses to producers.
