More than 1,000 Mozambican companies have asked Social Security for debt forgiveness

A total of 1,007 Mozambican companies asked the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) to forgive fines and late payment interest, in the context of alleviating the impact of covid-19, said the Minister of Labor and Social Security.

Margarida Talapa, speaking to the daily Notícias, said that the INSS accepted the request for forgiveness of fines and interest on arrears from 366 companies. Other companies’ lawsuits are still under review, she added.

The requests come after a measure created by the Government to deal with the crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic, said Talapa. “We hope that these measures (for the relief of the impact of covid-19) are disseminated to other entrepreneurs, because we want to contribute to the sustainability of companies and their businesses,” said the minister.
