The new regime of temporary suspension of the employment contract to take effect from August will be paid according to the hours worked.
The new lay-off regime will pay between 77% and 92% of the workers’ base salary and the payment will be made according to the hours worked, the Prime Minister announced this Thursday.
“Currently, except in cases where companies complement, in the simplified lay-off the worker earns 66% of his salary. With this new regime, from August onwards, he will receive a salary between 77% and 83% and from October between 88% and 92% of his salary ”, detailed António Costa, after the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
