The public prosecutor’s office in Braunschweig, Germany, assumed on Thursday that Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in 2007 in the Algarve at the age of 3, is dead.
“I would like to start by saying that in the investigation of the disappearance of British child Madeleine McCann, aged 3, from Praia da Luz, in the Algarve, we assume that the girl is dead,” said Christian Wolters, attorney and spokesman, during a statement to the press without questions.
Referring to the fact that it was a short statement, Christian Wolters, a prosecutor and spokesman for the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor, said that “a 43-year-old German citizen on suspicion of murder” is being investigated.
