From the distance that is close, many have already learned. We are already familiar with the longings that fade through new ways of communicating at a distance. However, neither the concern to make the distant near nor the approximation of the Portuguese and Portuguese who are in diaspora, seems to be a concern of the Camões Institute and even the Ministry of Education, which oversees Portuguese schools around the world.

In bad times and bad memories, the Portuguese and Portuguese were invited to emigrate. Many did so on the same path as always: to seek better living conditions. However, if in the 60s and 70s of the last century, those who emigrated were those who lived in the most extreme poverty, to which illiteracy was associated, today the situation is very different.
