António Mexia refuses to answer judge in the EDP case

Executive chairman was asked about EDP’s excessive rents process.

EDP’s president, António Mexia, today refused, as an accused and in the investigation phase, to answer to judge Carlos Alexandre, alleging that a request for removal of that magistrate is pending.

After several hours at the Central Criminal Instruction Court (TCIC), in Lisbon, to which he was called today by judge Carlos Alexandre to be questioned in the EDP excessive rents case investigation, António Mexia told journalists that, for the sake of consistency , due to the judge’s request for refusal, “today’s interrogation made no sense”.
