Authorities in Wuhan, the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic, have officially banned the consumption of all wild animals.
The local administration of the Chinese city said that, along with the ban on consumption, Wuhan will become a “wildlife sanctuary”, where virtually all hunting of wild animals will be banned, with the exception of actions for “scientific research, regulation population, monitoring of epidemics, diseases and other special circumstances “.
As part of the ban, the city has introduced strict controls around raising all wild animals, prohibiting anyone from being raised for food, CBS said.
