Deco warns that if airlines go bankrupt there is no mechanism that requires refunds

A Deco expert explained that there is nothing to guarantee the consumer a refund in the event of bankruptcy.

Deco criticizes the European Commission for failing to protect consumers who have purchased travel with airlines that go bankrupt. In this specific case, customers have no guarantee that they will be refunded, unlike what happens if the trips were purchased at an agency.

The coordinator of the legal and economic department of the consumer protection association, Paul Fonseca, argues that Brussels should have taken another position on this matter.
