Mubua, an african in the fight against Covid-19 in Guangzhou

Jeremie Mubua Ilrich, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, works as a volunteer to measure the body temperature of the inhabitants and to identify foreigners in the Chinese city

Every day, at 8:30 am, Congolese Jeremie Mubua Ilrich leaves his apartment in the Chinese city of Guangzhou and walks to the Dongyue Hotel, where he begins his volunteer work.

Mubua has volunteered in his community on Dengfeng Street since 2016.

Now focused on preventing the Covid-19 epidemic, Mubua measures the body temperature of the inhabitants and checks the identification of foreigners.

“I have been in Guangzhou for many years and I can better understand local measures for epidemic prevention,” he said, adding that he helps foreigners to cooperate with the Chinese government in the fight against the coronavirus.
