About to turn 102, Angelina Sciales has already managed to survive two world pandemics. Daughter of Italian immigrants, the elderly woman was just a baby when she passed without being infected by the Spanish flu in 1918, while traveling from Italy to the United States on a ship.
After more than 100 years, the resident of New York, in the United States, contracted Covid-19. Angelina was taken for a medical procedure last March 21 and discovered that she had been infected with the new coronavirus. The elderly woman, in the group at risk of the disease, was hospitalized for a week and then went to her nursing home, where she remained in isolation.
