In the last 24 hours, 378 more people in Spain died of the new coronavirus, according to data from the Spanish Ministry of Health. This Friday, there were more than 367 deaths. There are now a total of 22 902 deaths, 223 759 confirmed cases (2 994 more than yesterday) and 95 708 recovered (plus 3 353). For the second consecutive day, the number of new cured patients exceeds that of new infected ones.
The Spanish lethality rate (the difference between the number of deaths and those infected) remains at 10.2%, one of the highest in the world. The number of tests carried out by the country contributes to this factor, since the nations that test more find more mild cases and, therefore, obtain a lower mortality rate. Spain is currently doing 20 tests per million inhabitants. Less Italy (27) than Germany (24) and Portugal (31 – the country that proportionally tests the most in Europe).
