Volunteers began receiving Covid-19 vaccine under test in the UK
More than 800 people will be testing this vaccine in the coming weeks. The research team is optimistic. The first human trials in Europe of a vaccine against the new coronavirus began this Thursday in Oxford, UK.
Two volunteers were injected, the first of more than 800 people recruited for the scientific study of the potential vaccine, the BBC reported. Half of these people will receive the covid-19 vaccine while the other half will be tested with a control vaccine that protects against meningitis, but not against the coronavirus. Volunteers will not know what vaccine they receive, although doctors are aware.
