The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned this Wednesday that the virus that causes Covid-19 will be present “for a long time”, and said that there will be stability in the situation in Europe.
“The virus will accompany us for a long time,” said the official at an online press conference from the WHO headquarters in Geneva, after starting by saying that Europe is in a stable situation with a tendency towards the pandemic to decrease.
Even so, said the director-general of WHO, the epidemic can reactivate even in situations where confinement has worked, and warned that “the world will not function as before” and that it is necessary to look for a new and safer one reality.
